You will need to complete the Section Commander (Paramedic) Course to become a qualified Paramedic. This programme takes almost two years to complete.
Phase One - Section Commander (Paramedic) Course:

Outstanding Paramedics will be selected for the Advanced Paramedic Specialist Course (Phase Two) programme.
Phase Two - Advanced Paramedic Specialist Course (Overseas):
Qualified Paramedics will receive extra monthly allowances upon completing
Phase One and Phase Two respectively.
Training Bond
You are required to sign a two-year training bond. Should you terminate your service during the Section Commander (Paramedic) Course programme or within the two year bond period, a liquidated damage based on your individual monthly salary is payable.

Will I get regular pay during my Section Commander (Paramedic) Course in SCDF?
Yes. You will be paid the full salary for the 18-month of Section Commander (Paramedic) Course.
What is the Scheme of Service for SCDF Paramedic (PRM)?
As PRM, you will be appointed under the permanent scheme of service.
Is there allowance for Paramedic?
Yes, upon completing the training, a qualified Paramedic will get an extra monthly allowance of $400.
Is the 18-month of Section Commander (Paramedic) Course part of the 2-year training bond?
No. The bond will only commence after the completion of the Section Commander (Paramedic) Course.
