After your RCC, you will be posted to a fire station as a Rota Commander for about two years. Subsequent postings will expose you to command, staff and specialist functions. These will help uncover your strengths and interests to guide your career path.

From a Rota Commander, you could work your way up to become a Commander Fire Station, the head of a staff department in HQ SCDF, or a Division Commander. Promotion prospects will largely depend on your potential and performance.

In the Singapore Civil Defence Force, we believe in continuous training for our Senior Officers. The following awards and scholarships are available to help upgrade your skills and knowledge:
Training awards and 50% reimbursement for courses.
Study loan.
Postgraduate diploma in personnel management and specialised courses in public relations, disaster management, etc, are also available.
