training

Your route to becoming a Senior Officer begins at the Civil Defence Academy with the Rota Commander Course (RCC). The RCC will equip you with rescue and firefighting skills, staff work knowledge, and contingency planning proficiency. At the end of the course, you will take on the challenging role of a Rota Commander in the fire station and/or a Rescue Platoon Commander in the Singapore Civil Defence Force.

The 31 weeks RCC training programme comprises four terms:

  • Term One (15 weeks): Basic Firemanship.
  • Term Two (2 weeks): Fire Safety.
  • Term Three (8 weeks): Staff Work.
  • Term Four (6 weeks): Command & Control.

Training Bond

You are required to sign a two-year training bond. Should you terminate your service during the RCC or within the two-year bond period, a liquidated damage based on your individual monthly salary is payable.
